My Foundation Quest

I quit my foundation routine last year of summer because my skin is behaving really well. All I need to do is a touch up of powder foundation which is Palladio and Maybelline Dream matte powder. In short I don't need to hide blemishes at all. Started Fall last year I've been into drinking coffee which is organic of course but still I break out before my monthly period on my forehead  a zit or two which left a scar horribly and I'm not use of it. At night though I use Revlon Photoready foundation and my MAC studio fix fluid which I'm happy about. I felt that I'm not satisfied anymore and I feel ugly with those scars. So for the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been testing these liquid foundation everyday.

MUFE
ESTEE LAUDER
SHISHEIDO
LANCOME TEINT IDOLE
CHANEL VITALUMIERE

MUFE - light to medium coverage, I like it, long lasting, didn't cover my zit scar though, easy to blend

ESTEE LAUDER - gets dry easily but glides smoothly, light coverage, accentuate my dark under eye

SHISHEIDO- I got the darkest shade I thought it didn't much my skin tone but it blend well after 10 minutes. so so to me, smooth and glides easily, didn't cover my blemishes

LANCOME TEINT IDOLE- I think I keep wearing this, I like the coverage, glowy finish, last long to me. I got the shade of Bisque 4W and 6W and blends well on my skin tone. Plus it covers my dark under eye which I didn't notice on the other samples I have

CHANEL VITALUMIERE-  light to medium coverage, glowy finish, so so to me

Now, I won't stop searching until I will find what I'm looking for. I want to try the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk but Nordstrom in my place doesn't carry it, on my day off if I find time I need to drive an hour to go to the other Nordstrom store......

FOR REFERENCE MY MAC SHADE IS 37 TO 40, NORMAL TO DRY, WARM UNDERTONE.

Wish people have the same skin makes life easier and not to go search out in the planet to find a piece of needle...........I will update which foundation I will buy in regular size. I know for sure that I need different foundation in the summer and during the cold weather......

2010 Most Used Products

Though I was idle for quite sometime in blogging, it doesn't mean that I'm not into make up anymore. I do the grocery shopping all the time at home so I always see what's new in store, well its because I use drugstore makeup only other than couple of MAC items I have. Anyhoo, for 2010 I used so much of these products and it means its my favorite right? Lets start with my foundation I use everyday and until now.

I use MAC Studio Fix Fluid everyday until I found an alternative which is Revlon PhotoReady. I want to save the MAC as much as I can so I use the Photoready everyday at work. I use the Golden Beige and Medium Beige for my skin tone it doesn't make a difference to me. Not shimmery as others claim it. The studio fix fluid is too dark on my skin tone during summer but now its winter I can actually use it and by the way its in NC40 shade, I don't know why it should be the other way around.

After applying a thin layer of liquid foundie, I dab it off with Maybelline Dream Matte Powder and its in Medium 2-2.5 shade. I use it everyday and its my second pan, I need to buy some more, when I am on rush I just use it with brush and blend it all around my face, works fine for me.

For my concealer Nyx comes the best. The Concealer in a jar works best for me, covers up pretty much everything blemishes and under eye area. I bought several concealer according to reviews but I end up going back to this jar. I got it in TAN shade. Drug store eyeshadow base Loreal Decrease works fine, staying power is 4 hours but the eyeshadow still there except my outer corner color is not define anymore until when I get home from 8 hour shift. There's bunch of eyeshadow primer now coming out from drug store brand so I will try some more products.

For my highlighter, when I ran out of my MAC MSF I tried Physician Formula in Light Bronze Pearl and works the same, can't even tell the difference! I'm sure I'm gonna buy again, almost done with it also haha.

For eye shadow, I've been using this a lot! The Nyx 10 eye shadow palette on their Runway Collection in Secret World is a daily eye shadow for me. I used it a lot last Fall. They are pigmented, easy to blend and mix and match the colors for me. I have the other 2 palette but this is my favorite. For a neutral look, I like the Physician Formula Baked Collection in Baked Sands, pigmented, can be use wet or dry, its the go eye shadow for me when I can't think of colors to blend. I love purple and I have the Revlon ColorStay 12 hour eye shadow in 20 Sunrise Sunset, its a good buy for the color pay off is awesome. Lastly, I have the Maybelline Eyestudio in Khaki Craze, beautiful color for me, 2 colors, dark green and a mix of golden and and green tint in it, the shimmers are light not too bold. I'm a sucker of eye shadow so you'll probably see me blogging about them most of the time :)

For my Mascara, other than the Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara, I use the Stilleto for few months until the Falsies Volume Express from Maybelline came out. Love it, makes it look like falsies as it claims especially if you have long lashes.

I think I need to end with this one, facial moisturizer, cleanser, makeup remover will be in another post.
Thanks for taking time to read. Have a good day!

Revlon PhotoReady Liquid Foundation

Soon as the beauty bloggers and gurus were talking about this foundation I tried it myself to know how its like on me. I hit the store and eyeing on their sale. I got this at Walgreens for buy one get one half off! You know a beauty fanatic but wants to get the products IF  possible for FREE! haha. Ok ever since I tried this, I've been using this everyday. I tried the colorstay foundie but its yellowish on  me and I don't like the bottle it doesn't have pump so I end up pouring more than what I need. All I can say is this is the right foundation for me. I wouldn't even bother to buy another until I run out of it! I find it easy for me to get the right shade for me.

In fact I even use 2 different shades and it ooks fine. Probably because I don't really need that much foundation on my face. One small pump is enough. I use GOLDEN BEIGE and MEDIUM BEIGE works well for me! Just a hint of little dark on me but its not that noticeable when I use the Medium Beige.

They look almost thesame does it?
Picture above shows how they look after rubbing them on my hand. The shimmery effect doesn't show up that much, its wearable everyday that you don't need to go for a photo shoot to wear it.
PRICE $12.99 at Walgreens and of course lesser in Walmart
WHAT I LIKE

*a little goes a long way
*easy to find the right shade for me
*oil free and fragrance free
*easy to blend
*last long
*the pump makes it more hygenic and its easier to control how much you just needed
